[Hearing Elliot moan made John shiver against him, because that was involuntary, whereas Elliot usually needed to think through everything. There was definitely some sort of power play involved in his desire for Elliot - which there tended to be in everything involving him, but he didn't realize until he heard that moan just how thoroughly he wanted to break Elliot down until he was nearly sobbing with need.
