"No... Well, I don't think so," Elliot said, a small quirk of a smile hitting his lips. With the random memory lapses honestly he could've been and just not remember it.
[She needed something else. Hopefully he would let her back in to help, but she wouldn't push it.
Laughing at his joke, Daisy winced in sympathy. She knew how that went. There's still a scar on her cheek from the time she got really beat up.]
Yeah, I can imagine.
[Shes a little a panicked, sitting here right near a window where anyone could see here. But she's doing her best to be subtle so no one pays her any attention.]
Where were you going? Before you got the shit kicked out of you.
[There was something about her that made it easy to feel like he could trust her but he knew better than to not be careful but still he had a feeling that before long he'd let her in on what Fsociety was working on. She could be a valuable asset.]
A meeting... [The answer was delayed and not a lie but not the full truth either. He couldn't help it either.]
"Nah," she shakes her head. "It's no big. Kinda part of the giant family thing." She shrugs a bit. "Plus," she pats his leg once, "my friend's in town, gotta be a good host."
Elliot gives a slight nod at that. The big family thing is something that's strange to him still. "You don't have to go out of your way about that though," he said, really he isn't the best guest after all.
"Is that your nice way of sayin' Fi, I don't wanna fuckin' go anywhere'?" She teases, grinning to let him know she's both, not joking and wouldn't be offended if that was what he was getting at.
"Not exactly that," Elliot answers, smiling slightly at her. He wouldn't completely mind going somewhere but it just didn't seem necessary if she was going to go out of her way to do so. He's okay just chilling on the couch.
"Well, whatever ya wanna do," she shrugs a bit. "We can find somethin' halfway interesting around here." Lord knows her family were good at keeping things interesting one way or another.
Elliot briefly smiles again. "What do you want to do?" He asked instead, because he isn't so sure she gets much of a chance to pick what she wants to do with how she seemed to always be tending one disaster or another.
The question is almost like a shock to her system. “Huh.” She tips her head slightly. “I dunno. I don’t remember the last time anyone even asked me that.” She’s fine with it, the role of caretaker comes natural to her because it’s the way it’s always been. Being busy helping everyone else doesn’t really leave her with much time for herself. And she’s okay with that, she really is. Mostly.
But the idea of actually choosing something all her own to do with her time while Elliot’s here? Well. It’s weird. And maybe a little freeing. “I guess we could always go to a movie. Not that I even know what the hell’s playin’.” She laughs a little.
"We could figure out when we get there," Elliot offers and he doesn't mind the idea of going to a movie with Fiona even if it's not something he'd usually do -- corporate greed and all that is bad in Hollywood or something like that. He'd keep those thoughts to himself. There's no need to ruin a day out.
Besides there might be something entertaining to watch. "Should we sneak in some beers like kids do?"
"Then let's do it," Elliot agrees and he likes her looking happy about it. It's not the most exciting day they could have planned but somehow it feels like the right one. He shifts a little and actually starts drinking the coffee she'd brought him.
